The Conservative controlled Essex County Council have announced they will begin a consultation to close 25 Libraries across the county of Essex.
These libraries provide a local hub for residents to meet, learn and use the internet. Our school children rely on these libraries for the pursuit of learning and they provide vital internet access to those residents who have limited or no access at home.
It is crucial these libraries remain open, so in response to this: Labour East have launched the ‘Save Our Libraries’ campaign.
We will be campaigning across Essex, to ensure the Tories policy of ‘austerity’, does not see our libraries close.
