Chris Hinchliff has today [24 May] been selected to stand as Labour’s Parliamentary candidate for North East Hertfordshire.

Chris has been an active campaigner for rural towns and villages and the protection of the British countryside with CPRE, The Countryside Charity. He’s also campaigned to make sure that social care provision is improved and bus services are protected.

As a local councillor on North Hertfordshire District Council, Chris has championed help and support for people suffering the effects of the cost-of-living crisis through asking government to insulate more homes and to tackle fuel poverty.

Speaking after their selection, Chris Hinchliff said:

“I’m thrilled to be chosen to stand for Labour in North East Hertfordshire and I live in Royston.

“Every week, more people are joining Labour’s campaign as we speak to issues that matter to them. They tell me on the doorsteps that it is nigh on impossible to sign-up with an NHS dentist and that we need genuinely affordable housing supported with investment in strong public services. Also, our villages are being left in public transport deserts and our schools need more funds.

“I will be spending every campaigning minute putting forward how a Labour Government will change people’s lives for the better. And if voters choose me to represent them, I promise to turn up, speak up and never give up on being the local voice for North East Hertfordshire in Parliament.”
